Vol. 19 No. 2

Issue #218 | Grade: 4.5 Very Good (VG)

Detailed Description

This comic presents as a very attractive, wellpreserved mid1950s Silver Age copy, with strong visual appeal, solid structure, and vibrant interior color. Both covers are present and securely attached, and the spine remains straight and intact with only minimal wear. The book lies flat overall, and the interior pages retain good flexibility with no evidence of brittleness. When the spine, centerfold, and staple photographs are examined together, both original staples are confirmed present and holding; however, both staples exhibit pronounced rust/oxidation, visibly darker than typical light ageconsistent oxidation. Importantly, despite the rust, there is no evidence of staple pullthrough, tearing, or detachment, and surrounding paper remains structurally sound with no rust migration staining visible beyond the immediate staple area. Interior pages show strong color saturation and relatively mild oxidation compared to earlier decades, with no fullthickness tears observed. The centerfold remains intact and attached at both staples. Overall, aside from the staple corrosion—which stands out as the primary defect—this is a highquality, visually appealing example for the issue.
