Vol. 18 No. 1
Issue #205 | Grade: 4.5 Very Good (VG)
Detailed Description
This comic presents as a visually strong and wellpreserved mid1950s Silver Age copy, distinguished by excellent retained cover gloss, vibrant interior color, and relatively light interior page oxidation. Both covers are present and securely attached, and the spine remains straight and structurally sound without splitting or paper loss. Interior pages lie flat and retain flexibility, with no indication of brittleness. When the spine, centerfold, and staple photographs are examined together, both original staples are confirmed present and holding the book intact; however, both staples exhibit heavy rust/oxidation, more severe than typical agerelated darkening. Rust is visibly advanced at both staple positions, and localized paper disturbance is visible immediately adjacent to the staple areas. Despite this, there is no staple pullthrough, page detachment, or centerfold separation, and rust migration appears limited to the immediate staple zone. Interior pages exhibit light page color for the period, with strong color saturation and no fullthickness tears observed in the sampled images. The centerfold remains fully attached. Overall, aside from the significant staple corrosion, this is a highquality, visually appealing copy with much stronger presentation than its most prominent defect suggests.
