Vol. 17 No. 12

Issue #204 | Grade: 4.5 Very Good (VG)

Detailed Description

This comic presents as a visually strong and wellpreserved mid1950s Silver Age copy, with excellent retained cover gloss, vibrant interior color, and solid overall structure. Both covers are present and securely attached, and the spine remains straight and intact with no splitting or material loss. Interior pages display light cream page color, strong ink saturation, and retain good flexibility with no indication of brittleness. When the spine, centerfold, and staple photographs are examined together, both original staples are confirmed present and holding the book together; however, both staples exhibit heavy rust/oxidation, clearly visible and more advanced than typical agerelated darkening. Rust is concentrated at the staple locations with some localized paper disturbance immediately adjacent to the metal, but there is no evidence of staple pullthrough, page detachment, or centerfold separation. Rust migration appears limited to the immediate staple zones. Interior pages show strong, clean color reproduction and no fullthickness tears in the sampled images. The centerfold remains firmly attached. Overall, aside from the severely rusted staples, this is a highquality, attractive copy whose visual presentation substantially exceeds its primary structural defect.
