Vol. 17 No. 11
Issue #203 | Grade: 2.5 Good (GD)
Detailed Description
This comic presents as a highly attractive mid1950s Silver Age copy, with excellent retained gloss, strong cover presentation, vibrant interior color, and light interior page tone. Both covers are present and securely attached, and the book lies flat overall. Interior pages retain good flexibility and show no evidence of brittleness or moisture exposure. When the spine, centerfold, and staple photographs are examined together, both original staples are confirmed present and holding the book intact; however, both staples exhibit heavy rust/oxidation, darker and more advanced than typical agerelated discoloration. Despite the corrosion, there is no staple pullthrough, page detachment, or centerfold separation. Rust migration appears confined to the immediate staple zones with limited adjacent paper disturbance. The primary nonstaple structural defect is a small tear at the bottom of the spine, measuring approximately 6 mm, localized and not extending upward into the staple area. Aside from the severe staple rust and this minor spine tear, the book is visually excellent, with presentation that substantially exceeds what its primary defects might suggest.
