Vol. 11 No. 9

Issue #129 | Grade: 6.5 Fine (FN)

Detailed Description

Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories – Vol. 11 No. 9 (June 1951) The comic presents as a visually attractive copy with strong retained cover color and clean interior artwork. The front cover features Donald Duck leading Huey, Dewey, and Louie along a shoreline carrying fishing poles and fish, rendered in bright reds, yellows, blues, and greens that remain evenly saturated. Despite the appealing overall presentation, inspection reveals localized edge, corner, and spine defects, along with staplearea oxidation and minor paper stress. The front cover shows corner rounding, small chips, and edge wear, particularly along the foreedge and bottom edge. At least one corner shows a slight outward bend, with corresponding deformation visible on interior pages. The spine remains straight and aligned but exhibits surface cracking, shallow abrasions, and a small tear or paper loss at one staple location. Interior pages are complete and visually strong, but show minor corner compression and consistent edge wear. The back cover remains intact with edge wear and corner rounding, with no discrete paper loss observed. Staples remain seated and functional, though surface rust is visible, heavier at one staple. Paper remains flexible under the brittleness test.
