Relax, Collect, Enjoy Classic Comics
About Almon's Place
Almon's Place is a growing collection of classic comics assembled through inheritance and careful curation, with a focus on preserving and presenting each book as it exists today. The collection includes Walt Disney's Comics & Stories and Marge's Little Lulu. Additional Disney related comics are being catalogued including rare Disney Four-color issues, complete runs of Promotional Premium Comics from Quaker and Wheaties, Uncle $crooge, and Tubby. An extensive stamp cpllection is being considered for future expansion.
The goal of the site is twofold: to showcase the collection and to begin offering books for sale individually, in groupings, or as complete issue runs. Each comic is presented with attention to its individual characteristics, allowing collectors to understand not only what is available, but how each book has aged and been preserved.
Alongside the collection, Almon's Place provides a structured comic grading service built on detailed, observable analysis. Grading is informed by established industry standards, including the Overstreet grading definitions and the widely recognized 10-point scale, and is expressed using traditional grade designations such as Fine, Very Fine, and Near Mint with appropriate modifiers.
Grading Standards: Overstreet Definitions - 10-Point (0.5-10.0) Scale - Traditional Grade Designations (GD-NM/MT)
Each evaluation focuses on measurable condition factors such as surface wear, spine integrity, staple condition, and interior page quality. This produces clear, consistent reports designed to reduce subjectivity and provide a transparent understanding of a comic's condition.
Comic book grading service specializing in Golden Age, Silver Age, and modern comics. Each submission includes a detailed condition analysis, structural assessment, and grading report aligned with established industry standards.
